Gerardo García welcomes new members of the Board of Directors of Barents RE

Gerardo García, President and CEO of Barents Re, welcomes Messrs. John Harbor and Gary Callaghan as new members of the Barents Re Board of Directors starting on October 12 (two), two thousand and eighteen (2018). These appointments add to the Barents Re group a vast experience in the reinsurance industry and specialized knowledge in European markets, which will mean more focused and invaluable support.

John Harbor, director, is additionally a member of the Barents Re Audit Committee, has more than thirty-five years of international experience in the insurance industry. He has worked in numerous roles within the areas of accounting, auditing and finance. Recently, John has held senior non-executive director roles in insurance, and in larger sectors of the industry. John Harbor is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of England and Wales (Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, in English).

Likewise, Gary Callaghan, director, is a member of the Reinsurance Committee of Barents Re. Gary maintains a career of more than thirty years of experience in the reinsurance industry. Previously serving as Managing Director of Aon Europe, Gary has held senior roles in several recognized companies in the reinsurance industry before joining the Barents Re group as Head of Retrocession. He was recently appointed Administrative Director of Barents Re in the Cayman Islands.
